She soon realized that John had come to the mountain with thoughts of taking his own life. He ran to jump off a cliff but failed. After a point, he refused to move but Pam succeeded in convincing him not to give up so soon. After many tribulations, she carried John to a parking lot and asked him to wait while she heated her car. John then swapped her clothes for his and drove away in his car without uttering a word of thanks, leaving Pam bewildered.
