Tyler Childers was born on 21 June 1991 as Timothy Tyler Childers and was raised in Lawrence County, Kentucky. He is currently 29 years old. Tyler’s father, Cody Childers, worked in the coal industry while his mother, Loyran Childers, is a nurse. When he was young, he relocated to Lexington, Kentucky.

Further, Tyler discovered his singing ability in church while he started gaining interest in singing by singing church choir. Tyler was just around 13 when he began playing the guitar and writing songs.

The two EPs were released before his album, Purgatory, and Heatseekers.

Childers’ breakthrough Purgatory was released on 4th August 2017 which was inspired by his childhood home. Sturgill Simpson and David Ferguson produced the album. Simpson also played the guitar and sang backing vocals on the album, with the rest of his crew. It debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart, No. 17 on the Country albums chart, and No. 4 on the Americana/Folk albums chart. With another breakthrough, Childers won Emerging Artist of the Year at the 2018 Americana Music Honors & Awards in September.

The single lead video from the album House Fire was also released on 16th May 2019 and was nominated for Best Country Solo Performance at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards. Childers released an album on 2nd August 2019 under the Hickman Holler label, and Childers’ third overall.

Childers released Long Violent History on 18th September 2020, a surprise album consisting mainly of traditional fiddle tracks.  The album closes with the title track, Long Violent History, an original song that discusses racism, civil unrest, and police brutality.

Soon on his other YouTube channel, Childers left a message to guide the music. He discussed his intention for the album in general and the title track in particular, calling for empathy above all else. In the video, he told that 100% of the album’s profits will support underserved communities in the Appalachian region through Childers’s own Hickman Holler Appalachian Relief Fund.

Childers met Senora May, a fellow musician, in 2013 while he was working on a farm in Estill County, Kentucky. Tyler said “I was living out on this farm with a 65-year-old dude and this angel walks in.” further describing that May was earning extra money by cleaning houses while also attending college. Tyler started his relationship with Senora May in 2013 and after dating for 2 years he proposed Senora to be his wife.

On the 1Oth July 2015, Tyler exchanged vows with his now-wife Senora May Lainhart. Both Tyler and his wife are Kentucky natives, and their backgrounds have heavily influenced their musical stylings. Interestingly, Senora has five siblings and belongs to South American descent. The couples haven’t had any child yet, and according to them, they neither have been planning for one until they complete their dreams together.
