Christopher Macchio Bio: Age / Parents / Family

Christopher Macchio was born on August 1, 1978, in Long Island. Macchio started studying classical singing at the age of 16. He furthered his education by attending the Manhattan School of Music and since then, Macchio has participated in a variety of festivals and fundraisers in the tri-state area. His ultimate goal is to sing at the Metropolitan Opera, says Macchio. 

Christopher’s father is Dennis Macchio, a racer, team owner, professional driver, and a coach as well as a racetrack designer. There isn’t further information on Christopher Macchio’s parents, but he is clearly from Italian descent. Christopher has one sister, Jeanne-Marie Macchio who is now 38 years old.

Macchio’s educational life was excellent. When he graduated from Sachem High School, his grades were good enough to get him into Harvard or Princeton. However, Macchio had to join a cultural course to graduate from high school. Macchio joined the school chorus to be eligible for graduation, and as a result, he ended up loving singing. 

Macchio says that he thought he was going to be a physician or an attorney when he was growing up. However, his chorus director didn’t have any of it. Initially, Macchio was very shy to audition for the chorus in front of the other kids, but he asked his teacher for a private audition and he was granted his wish. Macchio greatly impressed his teacher.

“I knew that I had a decent voice. But I kept it a secret from my parents and the rest of my family, so nobody knew. But I really couldn’t gauge if it was special and I didn’t care at that point.”

Macchio joined the State University of New York at Stony Brook after he graduated from Sachem High School. He pursued an education in law and music both, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. Then he joined the Manhattan School of Music and graduated as a vocal performer. 

Christopher Macchio Career

Christopher Macchio started his career as a Recording Artist at Bell’Aria (EMI Music). He was one of the three people who were in the Bell’Aria group. The group celebrated Italian-American music and culture as part of a career. He left the group after one year, in 2011. He is also the CEO, Founder, and Vocalist in CDM Entertainment, a world-class singing/entertainment event managing group in both public and private sectors. 

Finally, Macchio joined the New York Tenors as a classical opera singer. Similar to Bell’Aria, he is one of three people in the New York Tenors group and works alongside Andy Cooney and Daniel Rodriguez. Macchio is continuing his career currently with the NY Tenors up till now, making it over a 6-year-career project for Macchio. 

Christopher Macchio has performed in major showrooms and theaters in Las Vegas and Atlantic City. Macchio can also sing in over 15 languages and is constantly evolving his music to fit the tastes of people who have an ear for a more modernized and contemporary sound. The 2020 Republican National Convention closed out with opera singer Christopher Macchio belting out a version of “Hallelujah” that was played out over the White House lawn while fireworks went off. He posted about performing at RNC on Twitter. 

Christopher Macchio Wife / Married Life

Christopher Macchio is married to Marie Zito. The couple met on a double date with mutual friends in October 2004. They’re both the same age and they started dating immediately. Four years later, Macchio proposed to Marie outside Manhattan’s Tavern in 2008. 

“We had some time before the reservation and walked around a little bit. I wanted to sit because my heels were bothering me. We just sat down and were talking, and he pulled out the ring and asked me if I wanted to marry him. I cried and said yes, and then we called our family.”

The couple got married at St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church, Marie’s childhood parish. At the reception, the bride and groom donated to the SADS Foundation. Soon after, they left for two honeymoons; two weeks in Hawaii followed by four days in Las Vegas.
