Franklin D Azar was born on 18th April 1957 (which makes him 63 years old as of now) and grew up in Trinidad, a small town rich in frontier history, which had seen its share of economic reversals as its coal mining industry declined.

His father was also a lawyer but most of his family was in the ranching industry as such he spent most of his childhood on his grandfather’s ranch- “The Saliba Ranch” which is located in Walsenburg, Colorado.

Frank grew up lauding his fathers work and wanted to be a lawyer himself. However, his father discouraged him from pursuing law and he thought the industry was changing too fast. Frank has a brother named William who also practices law in Alaska and a sister named Yvonne who practices law in Colorado.

He graduated Cum Laude from the University of Colorado in 1979, where he earned his B.A. degree. Frank then received his Juris Doctor from the University of Denver in 1982. He went to Trinidad High School. During his time at the University of Colorado, he was also a member of the honor society Phi Beta Kapa.

A woman was awarded $145,000 in damages from lawyer Frank “The Strong Arm” Azar after she claimed she was duped by his television commercials in which he promises to deliver big settlements from insurance companies.

The lawsuit was brought by Shawna Jimenez of Colorado Springs, who says she was injured in a car crash in 2004.

She says she was pressured to take a settlement of $25,000.

El Paso County jurors acquitted Azar’s firm and one of his attorneys of theft and false advertising but found them guilty of negligence and misrepresentation.
