Yvie Oddly Early Life, Family, Mom, Dad

25 years old Yvie was born as Jovan Bridges on August 23, 1993, to her parents in Denver Colorado. Jovan is a gay man who started doing drag since his school days.

The first instance of him doing drag was for a Holloween costume event. He dressed up as a dead hooker while his mother accompanied him as a pimp. Seems like his mother is a cool lady who is supportive of what Jovan does.

Also, in the context of being supportive; Yvie’s dad is equally on board!

Yvie Oddly’s Career

The drag journey that initiated from school is what has taken Yvie to this immaculate height in her career.

It was the attention that she received while dressing up as a girl that inspired her to keep continuing.

Yvie described how she started liking the idea of drag, after the Holloween costume event, in an interview saying,

I remember really enjoying that experience and the attention that came with it. When we had a student drag show at Auraria that was promising to have a RuPaul girl come and teach workshops, I said “I have to be there, I’m going to be so fabulous and she’s going to put me in touch with RuPaul,” which obviously didn’t happen but I realized that drag was something I was going to be good at. Being a skinny, young, twinky, black gay guy, I felt like nobody took me seriously before drag.

From there on there was no turning back for Yvie Oddly, and she went on to win Denver’s Ultimate Queen in 2015. Later she Yvie got an opportunity to host The Odd Hour a regular drag show at Tracks.

And now, she has won the RuPaul’s Drag Race season 11.
