Maruv Early Life / Age / Parents
The 27-year-old singer was born on February 15, 1992, in Pavlograd, Ukraine, where she spent her teenage years. When she was a kid, Anna’s parents took her to a music school where she first discovered her vocal talent. As a teenager, she tried her hand at dancing and went on small a Ukrainian tour once.
After graduating from school, Anna moved to Kharkiv and enrolled in two universities at once. Eventually, she had to abandon one in favor of a better-organized student community and an increased scholarship in another. She is an expert in the field of intellectual property and has a degree in radiophysics and electronics.
Maruv’s Music Career
In 2013, Anna started her first band where she performed covers of popular songs in her own unique style, combining rock with experimental genres. The band called The Pringlez existed from 2013 to 2017: during this time, the guys won a few competitions, including “Pepsi Stars of Now” and “New Wave-2015.” In 2014, the young singer took part in the show-project “Voice of Ukraine,” and in 2016, she presented the song “Easy to Love” for the national Eurovision selection.
In 2017, the band settled in Kyiv and released the album called Stories. Soon after, creative differences arose between the members. Anna wanted to move in an experimental direction and create a fresh concept, while the other band mates were OK with what they were doing at that time. The same year, Anna was selected in the eighth season of “The X-Factor Ukraine” where she saw that she could achieve more if she quits the band.
In 2018, the girl picked a stage name MARUV and created a new duo called MARUV & BOOSIN together with a Ukrainian DJ Mykhailo Busin. In May, the two reach their first success when their song “Drunk Groove” hits the charts around the world, and the music video for it gets over 100 million views.
Anna enjoys growing popularity, getting hundreds of romantic love messages and comments every day. All thanks to a mix of strong voice and outrageous appearance which is an obvious reference to the BDSM culture and sex minorities. Bald girls and dwarfs with chainsaws and wind instruments became a catchy frame for MARUV’s image.
Maruv’s Relationships / Married Life / Husband
Anna’s personal life always went hand in hand with her career. She met her future husband, Alexander Korsun, back in Kharkiv when she worked in a karaoke club. According to Anna, their romance was so passionate that Alex even used to climb up a drainpipe to get into her dorm room. Today, Alexander is the PR-manager of the MARUV project. The couple has no children yet.
The actress protects her personal information so carefully that fans still don’t know her maiden name. When asked about her family, she evasively answers that her parents, younger brother, and husband are the closest people to her.
