Bryshere Yazuan Gray, also known by the stage name Yazz the Greatest or simply Yazz, is an American actor and rapper. Gray is best known for his role as Hakeem Lyon in the Fox primetime musical drama television series Empire.
But Bryshere got some negative publicity last year in June 2020, after being arrested on accusations of abusing his wife.
Bryshere Gray Pleads Guilty
As per TMZ, Bryshere has now pleaded guilty in a felony domestic violence case. This means Bryshere Gray will have to spend some time behind bars.
According to new legal docs, Gray pled guilty to felony aggravated assault and, as part of his plea agreement, he’s been sentenced to 10 days in county jail and 3 years probation.
Bryshere Gray Arrest
On the 14th of July 2020, actor Bryshere Gray was arrested in Arizona after Gray’s wife dialed 911 seeking help citing domestic violence. Arizona Police responded to a Circle K gas station in the Phoenix suburb of Goodyear around 10:15 p.m. to assist her.
As per the statement given by authorities, when police arrived, they said the woman had visible injuries on her body. Bryshere’s wife told them he also strangled her, and she was taken to a hospital.
Gray refused to leave his home when police arrived, so a SWAT team and crisis negotiators were called to help. Candice alleged Gray “said he was going to kill her,” punched her more than 100 times, choked her, and pulled a knife on her.

Gray, however, in his police interrogation, claimed he and Jimdar were in an open relationship. He claimed that Jimdar was suicidal and had threatened to hurt herself.
“We have an open relationship as well so I allow her to have a boyfriend because I’m really busy,” he said.
Before Candice, Bryshere indeed dated a few ladies, but he hadn’t exchanged vows then.
Moreover, as per our sources, Bryshere’s wife, Candice was a model by profession. Candice was born in the year 1993 and is 28 years old now. She is a native of Pennsylvania state but was living with her husband in Arizona at the time of the incident.
Also, for now, there is no information regarding whether or not Gray’s wife has filed for divorce. But, based on our understanding, she might file it soon.
