In his senior year, Lee averaged 16.6 points, 9.3 assists, and 2.6 blocked shots per game, leading his team to a 26-1 record and the school’s first state title. He was the Idaho Gatorade Player of the Year for 2017. As a sophomore, he averaged 14.8 points and 8.9 rebounds.
Lee graduated from Rocky Mountain High in Meridian, Idaho, last spring and originally intended to join the LDS Church mission when he signed with BYU in November 2016.

Kolby Lee Wife, Married, Wedding
Kolby Lee and his now-wife, Kayla Belles, were supposed to be married on August 1, 2020. But, unfortunately, Kolby Lee contracted the COVID-19 virus. That happened at the beginning of August, and as a result, he had to isolate himself. Kolby’s condition compelled him to postpone his marriage to Kayla Belles.
However, only after over a week on 9 August 2020, Kolby and Kayla got married after he ended his isolation. Kolby’s wife, Belles, is from Ithaca, Michigan, and is a basketball player at Michigan State.
When Belles decided that she wanted to consider relocating, she looked online to see if she could have a chat with some future teammates. She found Lee’s name attached to the men’s team of Cougar and was inspired to click on the link. That’s how Kolby and Kayla got introduced to one another.
Talking of how they met for the first time, Kolby’s shared the details stating,
“We started talking and four months later he flew to Michigan to meet me. He was so nervous. We’d talked for hours on FaceTime but we’d never met. I feel like it’s the weirdest story to tell our future children and grandchildren.”
Eighteen months after meeting online, Lee proposed to Belles on May 29, 2020, out in front of the Logan Temple.
