Matt Mowers Bio
Starting from January 2017, Matt Mowers worked as the Senior White House Advisor at the State Department. In that capacity, Matt advised the U.S. Secretary of State and was engaged on issues including North Korea, immigration reform, defeating ISIS, and ensuring religious freedom.
Later, he helped lead the $6 billion United States’ global HIV program (PEPFAR) which has saved over 15 million lives and led to 2.6 million babies being born HIV-free. Further, during his tenure, Matt engaged world leaders, faith-based organizations, and the private sector to enhance outcomes, while working to secure unanimous, bi-partisan support in Congress to re-authorize this life-saving program.
Mr. Mowers also spearheaded efforts to bring humanitarian assistance to the people suffering under the socialist regime in Venezuela, a country he lived in briefly during his childhood.
Prior to Matt’s diplomatic experience, he served as a senior official on the historic Trump-Pence Presidential campaign and the subsequent transition team, capping a ten-year career of advising political leaders including Governor Chris Christie and helping lead the New Hampshire Republican Party as its Executive Director.

Moving on with the details of Matt’s parents, his mother was a bartender and his dad was a construction worker, who worked as a diver on the construction of the Seabrook Power Plant. Matt has expressed on different occasions that his father’s job took their family all over the country and the world.
Matt once shared the experience of living life abroad in an interview by stating,
“When I was younger I lived abroad in Barbados and Venezuela (pre-Chavez era). The experience in both, but particularly Venezuela given the current crisis, made me learn the value of strong institutions and a lifestyle we often take for granted in the United States.”
