Alex Harvill has died on Thursday while practicing for a world record jump at a Washington State Airport.
28-year-old Alex Harvill was trying to break the Guinness World Record for the longest motorcycle ramp jump when he crashed. He was trying to make a jump of 351 feet but he came up short and slammed into the side of a large dirt mold.
He was trying to break the record set by Australia’s Robbie Maddison on March 29, 2008. He was riding his Suzuki 450 when the accident happened.
Grant County Sherrif department released a statement regarding his death:
MOSES LAKE, Wash. (17 JUNE 2021) – Grant County Coroner Craig Morrison confirms the death of 28-year-old Ephrata resident Alex Harvill who died after crashing his motorcycle while performing a practice jump at the Grant County International Airport this morning. His family has been notified.
Coroner Morrison’s staff will conduct an autopsy on Friday to confirm the cause and manner of death, which is normal procedure.

Wills regularly accompanied his father in his adventures and was very keen to get on the bike. He can be seen practicing in many of the videos that Alex posted on his Instagram account.
