32-year-old Sydney Benter, an evening anchor on KXAN-Austin, left her job on Friday, May 28, 2021. She was replaced on June 10 by Britt Moreno who is now the new KXAN evening news anchor.
Sydney did a great job during her tenure and for that reason, her fans are concerned for her and asking the question Why did Syndey Benter leave her position as a news anchor in KXAN Austin.
Sydney has spoken about her departure in her social media accounts in which she has said:
“It’s time to remove the blinders that have allowed me to plow through the last couple months. I can’t avoid the date on my calendar any longer—Friday says: ‘last day at KXAN.’
If life came with an instruction manual, I’d follow the directions to the next step. Instead, I’m staring at a blank page that’s daring me to write a plot twist. It’s at once liberating and terrifying.
Whatever lies ahead, I’m so fortunate to have friends, family and (soon-to-be-former) colleagues who offered encouragement and validation when life threw me a curveball I wasn’t anticipating. At least I can safely cross baseball player off the list! One down, plenty other possibilities to explore.”
After she left her job she has been reflecting on the emotional conclusion of one chapter of her life and contemplating what her next move must be.

Sydney Benter Career
Before working at KXAN Sydney worked at WKRC Cincinnati. She joined the KXAN news crew in October of 2017. Before that, she worked for WTWO Terre Haute, Indiana as an evening news anchor.

The Cincinnati native is a University of Cincinnati graduate and was born on April 12, 1989. She is married to Bert and the couple do not have a child as of now.
Sydney graduated from Taylor High School in 2007 and later earned a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Electronic Media from the University of Cincinnati.
She graduated Magna Cum Laude minoring in Spanish and double majoring in Journalism.
