19-year-aged Tavis Cunningham is one of the members of 1achord. Tavis was born and raised in Raeford, North Carolina in a church going family. He did his high school at Hoke County High.
Tavis Cunningham served as drama club leadership officer, became the president of the national honor society, and was a devoted member of the Hoke County theatre program, all while he was still at high school.
Tavis also received the ITS grant to attend Virtual International Thespian Festival (ITF). Upon his selection at that time he said,
“As a black male in the performing arts I have been seen as unusual, but I still decided to pursue wholeheartedly what I love to do. Though I have not yet reached my full potential as a performing artist when youth of color see me, they strive to perform as I do.”
After graduating from high school Tavis joined the University of North Carolina where is studying BFA in Musical Theater.

1achord is a group of three very talented singers from the University of North Carolina. The three young boys met in January 2021 and formed the group.
They formed the group after meeting for the first time in the college cafeteria after they started talking about music and each other’s interests.
