During his high school career, he passed for 3,863 yards with 34 touchdowns and rushed for 3,003 yards and 41 touchdowns. McCall was consistently accurate in the deep and vertical passing game while showing very good touch on these throws.
McCall spent his first year at Coastal Carolina in 2019 playing two games. He ended all four of his 25-yard pass attempts and a touchdown. McCall led the Chanticleers to their first 3-0 start since 2015, as well as their first since entering the Football Bowl Subdivision in 2017. McCall completed 42-of-63 pass attempts in his first three games, bringing him with a 66.7 percent completion rate. He averaged 243 passing yards a game and tossed nine touchdown passes at one interception.
McCall is now among the nation’s leaders with 23 passing touchdowns and just two interceptions, leading the Sun Belt Conference in passing performance at 185.9 and passing 2,170 yards, and second in completion at 69.3 percent (151-of-218). He’s still 10th in the Sun Belt with six running touchdowns and 14th in the 473 rushing yards.
