Ben Melkman Career
Fascinated by markets at a very young age, Ben Melkman has spent his investing career thinking through the intersection of politics, macroeconomics, and the price of options.
After earning a degree from the London School of Economics, Melkman, hit the FX desk at Morgan Stanley, quickly establishing himself as an invaluable resource for the largest macro hedge funds who sought his counsel on how best to structure trades in light of vol surfaces on offer across asset markets.
He worked as an executive director at Morgan Stanely for five years beginning from January 2004 till December 2008. From there on, Ben moved ahead to Brevan Howard in March of 2009, where he ended up working as a Portfolio Manager and later a partner.
After a highly successful run at Brevan Howard, Ben took the initiation himself and established Light Sky Macro in 2016.

Ben, ,I have always wanted to trade stocks !Well I sold my house paid of all my debt and started trading.My first trade ,did a call on twtr.It was at 33 and bought maybe 10 contracts with strike 40 .It went to 39.60 .Sold it and made 3300 .Since then I have been trading and realized early I had to ring the register .I have realized 120,000.Have sent quarterly .Then about 3 weeks ago I opened first Roth and turned it into 21,000 .now account worth 15,000 with 5,000 cash because I sold my one option and made couple thousand .
Wish I could have put more in ba a use it went down to 2.75 from 5.20 .
