Information claiming that Russia’s president, Vladimir Putin has released a total of 800 tigers and lions to urge people to stay back at home has created quite a stir on the internet.

If you are also among them, we are sorry to break the ice, but this news is nothing but a hoax. While many people seemed to appreciate the news praising Vladimir for taking the right initiative; many are clueless to the fact that it is nothing but a troll.

The picture of the lion on the street was, however, of a giant male lion which was spotted strolling down the streets of South Africa’s biggest city in the middle of the night.

The Lion was spotted strolling around a residential area in Johannesburg. The authorities later reassured the residents; that the lion, called Columbus, was not on the loose – and had been brought in by a production crew for filming.
