Poppy’s film/TV career began in 2018 with guest appearances on New Amsterdam, Law & Order: SVU, and Better Call Saul. In 2019, for her first pilot season, Poppy landed the series regular role of Mei Lin on the NBC series Sunnyside starring alongside Kal Penn and was recognized by TVLine as one of the “TV Breakout Stars” of the 2019-2020 season for her performance. Sunnyside is available for streaming on Hulu and NBC.com.
Prior to working in the entertainment industry, Poppy’s entry into film and TV began with a number of collaborations with Chinese American and women indie filmmakers.
In 2016 Poppy produced her first narrative short film Names of Women which she toured around the country speaking at numerous college campuses and conferences.
