Lauren McCluskey Biography
Lauren was born to her parents, mother, Jill, and father, Matthew, on February 12, 1997 in Berkeley, CA. In August of 1998 McCluskey moved to Pullman, WA with her parents as they joined Washington State University as professors.
Beginning from an early age, Lauren was bright, athletic and very active kid. Just at the age of 8, she entered her first Junior Olympic (JO) association track meet and was able to set records in long jump, high jump, and 400 meter run.
Thereafter, at age 9, Lauren qualified for nationals in the 9-10 age group. Moreover, McCluskey continued competing in high jump, hurdles, and multi-events nationally; setting many USATF association youth records.

Other than athleticism, Lauren was into volunteering. Since she loved animals; she volunteered at the Whitman County Humane Society where she helped cats to be more adoptable by socializing them.
Lauren herself owned two cats named Fuzzy and Victory.
Moving on, Lauren was very versatile with her talent; one, she had a strong singing voice, two, she did stand-up comedy, and three, she was a gifted writer!

Meanwhile, not just was Lauren talented in extra-curricular activities she had even good grades. Lauren had a 3.77 GPA and had applied to graduate in spring 2019.
Unfortunately for her and her family, the beautiful chapters that were to unfold in the coming years for Lauren was closed for ever in 22nd October 2018.
Lauren is now survived by her parents Matt and Jill, brother Ryan, grandparents John and Linda McCluskey, Ross and Joyce Rudeen, uncles Jeff and Steve Rudeen, aunt Jennifer McCluskey, cousin Madison Bryant, and her cat Victory.

Lauren was shot and killed by Melvin S. Rowland on October 22, 2018. Rowland, 37, a man with multiple criminal records in the past shot Lauren multiple times before taking his own life.
