Peru’s Ex-President, Alan Garcia shoots himself earlier today after police arrived at his home in the capital Lima to arrest him.
As per the statement provided by Alan Gracia’s lawyer, Erasmo Reyna; Police were sent to arrest him in connection with a bribery investigation.
Mr. Garcia is accused of taking bribes from Odebrecht, a Brazilian construction company, however, the claims has been repeatedly denied by him.
Alan Garica shot himself in the neck and is reported to be in a critical situation as of now. The 69-year-old Peru’s former president is undergoing emergency surgery for “a bullet wound to his head.”
Health minister Zulema Tomás reported on Mr. García’s expressing that his condition was “very serious and critical.”
Also, the media has come to learn that Mr. Garcia suffered three cardiac arrests from the gunshot and had to be resuscitated all the times.
Hopefully, the doctors at the Casimiro Ulloa Emergency Hospital in Lima will be able to save him.
