Amber Mark’s Early Life, Parent.
Amber was born on a farm in Tennessee to a Jamaican father and her mother was a German.
Her mother was living in Miami but went to Tennessee just to give birth to her so she spent the first two weeks of her childhood in Tennessee. She did not want to have children at hospital as there was a spiritual thing going on with her so she gave birth at a farm in Tennessee.
Amber and her mother lived in Miami, New York and eventually moved to India when Amber was 9 years old, so that her mother could immerse herself in the study of Thangka painting (a traditional Tibetan Buddhist form of art).
After spending a three years living in a Darjeeling monastery, she and her mom eventually settled in Berlin at the age of 12.
Amber’s godparents own an Italian restaurant named “Palma” in Cornelia Street in New York City’s West Village, and Amber lived above it, after high school. Amber moved in with her godparents permanently after high school, when they legally adopted her so she could go to school in New York. She lived in New York on and off since she was 7 but permanently moved there at 18 after she graduated high school.
Before releasing SPACE she was working two jobs – at Rock Nation where she was assisting the manager and at a cocktail bar. Prior to working on Rock Nation she worked at a hair salon.
She does not have a good relation with her dad. Her mother and her father were together for only a year and got separated after her father had an affair with the next door neighbor when Amber was only 1 years old.

It was her mother who bought her a guitar and Amber learned chords off Youtube and joined Choir. She started writing on her sophomore year at high school. She tells in her interview with Carly Wilford about how she started into this field.
“I think when I really knew that I wanted to be like an artist was when I was in my junior high school and I was performing in an after-school band program thing. We were kind of like School of Rock. We were performing for some event and that’s when I felt that this what I wanna do.”
Amber released her first song, “S P A C E”, on her Soundcloud profile. Within the two months since being uploaded, Radio producer JJ Corsini got hold of the song, and he nudged the song in DJ Zane Lowe’s direction, who in turn cued it up for his Beats 1 show.
Once the song was being played by Lowe, Apple Inc placed it on the iTunes homepage as part of the “Hot Tracks” section. The song stood placed along with songs of other famous artists like Taylor Swift, Drake, Justin Bieber, Rihanna, and several other top artists.
The next song that she would upload would be an ode to her mother titled “Monsoon” which features her mother, Mia Mark. The single’s art cover is a photo of young Amber with her mother.
In 2017, at the age of 23 Amber Mark released her first EP record titled “3:33 dam”. The album featured music that she had previously recorded and released on her Soundcloud. The EP was released through Jasmine Music and PMR under exclusive license by Virgin Records.
She is fascinated with the number 3 as it has much importance in her life. Her mother was born in 1953; her brother was born in 198, and she was born in 1993. Her mom, whom the album is dedicate to, passed away on June 3, at 10:23 pm in 2013. Since the experience of her mother passing away, she started seeing three’s everywhere. She would check the time and it would be 3.33 am. AM being her Initials as Amber Mark.
Her songs acted as a medium for her to communicate with her mother as stated by her in her Carly Wilford Interview.
“I think singing about her or singing about what I was going through with all that stuff, I kind of felt like I was talking to her, and I was letting it out even though it was almost pretty much to myself. It felt good to get it out in song and I was able to articulate what I was feeling in a better way, a way that felt more like a release.”

School life of Amber mark
Due to her constant travels, Amber was homeschooled when she was in India. After returning from India she was in the High School in Miami where here bigger brother went to.
She was good at reading but she was really poor in math. She hated school and she didn’t like homework. She felt like she was behind everyone.
She could not attend her graduation as her mother got really sick and refused to go to the doctors. Her mother had breast cancer and found out about it in Stage 4 when Amber was 19 years old.
