Katherine von Drachenberg a.k.a Kat Von D is yet again dragged into a controversy and this time around it isn’t Jeffrey Star who is doing it.
The beauty mogul Kat’s beauty brand got accused of selling a regular-sized eyeliner for $20; with the amount of product equal to that of a sample-sized eyeliner.
The issue was first brought to the public’s attention by a customer named Cheyenne Vaughan on Tuesday.
Cheyenne disassembled a Kat Von D Tattoo Liner and took to Facebook to explain the things that were off. In her post, Cheyenne clearly accused Kat’s brand of scamming the customers.
Vaughan called out Kat’s brand for putting together a sample-size eyeliner into a longer-shell tube and selling it for a price that was unacceptable.
Yall I'm about to lose my mind right now Kat von D really been putting a sample size eyeliner into a longer shell tube and selling to my dumb ass for triple the price. I'M ABOUT TO LOSE MY MIND RIGHT NOW

Many others then started to hop on the train calling out Kat for fooling the customers. However, there also were people who pointed out that it was normal.
On exploring further, it did become clear that this was a common thing practiced in the beauty industry.
Meanwhile, Kat herself came forth to address the matter on Wednesday. Via an Instagram post, Kat explained,
The cartridges in both full-size liners and mini liners are the same — it’s the amount of product inside each cartridge that is different. So, for example, the product fill on our full-size Tattoo Liner is 0.55 ml, while the product fill for the mini is 0.2 ml – that’s over DOUBLE the amount of product!
