“He didn’t even make me his official girlfriend, which meant I didn’t feel I had much of a leg to stand on when it came to demanding where he was, so I ended up letting him walk all over me.
“He wasn’t controlling or malicious (and I’d still say hi to him now if I saw him in the street because despite everything I did like him), but he was a major player. And a major headf***!
“He would whisk me off for lovely meals and take me on amazing dates and then not contact me again for a few days and go AWOL.”
