Facing a similar scenario are some of the renowned social media influencers including Shane Dawson, Trisha Paytas, and a few others.
Following the incident of Romeo Lacoste getting exposed for the pedophilic texts that he exchanged with an underage girl; other YouTubers are kept under the scrutiny as well.
Not just that, Shane is even alleged for animal cruelty as he passed some nasty remarks on his cat, Cheeto.
Shane Dawson’s Apology
You either own up to the mistakes you made or apologize! Shane Dawson chose to do the latter as he believes that the things he did in his past make him hate himself.
At first, Shane came up with 15 minutes long YouTube video where he addressed his pedophilic comments and refused to be a pedophile.

A few hours later, Shane then expressed his apology in a very long tweet.
Shane further mentioned that all his ‘insensitive and offensive jokes’ will haunt him every day, and it is never going to be easy.
theres so many things im so proud of. but all of my offensive jokes, over the top stories, and insensitive jokes are something that still haunt me and something I have to be faced with everyday on the internet. and it never gets easier. (6/?)

Moreover, Shane also apologized for the things that he said to his cat and for being offensive in general.

But does Shane deserve to be forgiven after all the things he said? Well, that is up to his fans and the public in general to decide.
As of now, there is a mixed reaction coming from the people on the internet.
Also, except for Garrett Watts, and Teala Dunn, Shane’s good friends including Jeffery Star and Trisha Paytas haven’t publically reached out to Shane to comfort/support him.
