Matt Ox’s mother Laurel Grau was only 15 years old when she gave birth to him. Matt was raised only by his mother as his father committed suicide when Matt Ox was only 2 years old due to a psychological disorder.
Matt Ox grew up in Lawncrest neighborhood of Northeast Philly. By the time he was 5 years old, he already had started writing songs.
His mother was surprised by the quality of songs that he wrote at such a young age. Laurel decided to support Matt in all the ways she could to make sure that; Matt would achieve his dream of becoming a rapper.

Matt Ox started taking rap seriously when he was 11 years old and within a year, he has reached such massive heights and has featured in top magazines and fashion shows.
However, he was not handed success on his plate right after he started. He wrote and recorded several tracks before becoming famous all before he reached the age of 12.
He uploaded several tracks on Soundcloud but later deleted them as they were not as “flawless” as he wanted them to be.
